Eastbourne landlords to discuss market changes

November 28th, 2012

Landlords operating in the Eastbourne area are being invited to attend a meeting to talk over new changes to the housing market.

The discussion will be focused on those that let properties to students and with a wide range of factors such as rising tuition fees and visa restrictions for undergraduates from outside the UK coming into play, landlords need to assess their approach in the sector, Eastbourne Herald reports.

Tony Richard, the National Landlords Association’s representative for Eastbourne, told the source: “As students settle into the autumn term at Brighton University, landlords have the opportunity to discuss how the local market is changing and how they can learn from these developments in advance of the next academic year.”

The meeting will take place on December 5th and will address all the issues facing student landlords in the coming months.

It follows advice from Carolin Kavanagh, managing director of Townends Lettings & Management who said that landlords should consider leaving the student accommodation sector.
