Professional landlords can ‘sway potential tenants’
Landlords who appear to be professional and responsible are able to sway potential tenants into making a positive rental choice.
Carolyn Uphill from the National Landlords Association (NLA), said that research shows the majority of househunters will choose to rent with someone who was accredited by a professional body.
“This is where the NLA comes in – we provide a route to accreditation through one of our courses, or online free learning, and ensure that landlords remain professional, with a CPD requirement, and full support on all aspects of letting, including keeping them up-to-date with the latest legislation,” she noted.
Ms Uphill went on to say that location can play an important part when it comes to potential tenants choosing a property.
Some will need to be based close to public transport hubs so that they can commute, while others might have a decision to make over whether they want a sleek, town apartment or a quiet country retreat.
